Ice Fishing Shelter
Plans for a portable 2 man ice fishing shelter?
I want to build a portable 2 man ice fishing shelter, i have already had two different clam models, and one lasted two uses, and the other lasted one. their quality is subpar , and i would like to build my own so if something goes wrong, i know who to blame.
I dont want to pay for plans, so please dont give me links to websites with that purpose.
one was the the square tent like one, and the poles snapped on it the second use, the other one was the clam 2000 and the hole cover door,cracked and broke, and the zippers on both sides seperated, and will not seal shut now, and this was on the first use. either clam has some quality issues, or i might just be unlucky
What happened to your clams? I've always wanted one of them. I've pondered this myself and I've never had any good ideas on how to build one though. I've seen people use two poles with a tarp in between but it's just a wind block. I've seen people use tent's but you have to anchor them down which makes them not as portable as a clam. If I can have one of your clams, I'll fix the other one for you. There is another brand something like "fish trap" not sure exactly but maybe the other brand is more durable. I know how to make a nice permanent shanty but they're not easily moved. I hope someone on here has a better answer. Good question.

Icebergs float, so Eskimos didn't need Noah's Ark to survive?
If I was an eskimo during the Great Flood, I could just carve a cave along the side of the iceberg. Bingo! instant shelter from wind, and rain. Actually, all I'd need to do is stretch a seal skin ceiling across a few logs, or blocks of ice and I'd have a rain proof shelter.
There's plenty of fresh water for drinking (after it stopped raining for 40 days i could melt ice). Plenty of fish in the ocean to eat. Survivability seems quite possible in this case. In addition, huge icebergs take years to melt, even in the hot sun.
Your thoughts?

Icebergs are impervious to huge waves didn't you know? Some are as large as small countries 
To the postings describing different climatic conditions during Noah's time (the earth being free of ice), could you please explain where Polar bears, penguins, and Walrus's came from? Don't tell me they "evolved" (evolution) from other critters after the flood was over.
I never thought of it that way, but it seems to me that it would be a perfect shelter/way of surviving. Good thinking because as you stated, icebergs take years to melt and since it would be raining and its cold where the icebergs are, it wouldnt cause them to melt because wouldn't the rain freeze on the iceberg?

You stay inside for four months straight? I’ve realized that the winter can be quite beautiful as well as long as you bundle up. I try to get out and do some snowshoeing, some ice fishing and just hiking in general. And I totally agree about spring. It’s just amazing.
